I'm Grumpy When You're Not Here | My Favorite Things

Don't our kitties all have these days, when there owners have to go to work but we'd rather just stay home and cuddle them. A clean and simple card, with this multi colored kitty sitting in the window. I colored the kitty image with Copics and die cut the window out of patterned designer paper. I also die cut the window several times out of heavier white card stock and layered it for dimension. Before adhering it all onto the card base I stenciled a cloud scene where the kitty would be gazing out the window.

Once everything was set and dry, I pop dotted the kitty so he was raised on the ledge with his toy fish and gave him a birdy friend saying waving hello. I added a sentiment stamped on black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder, it stands out nice and bold. The entire panel is adheard onto a #110lbs white card base.

Thanks for stopping by,

Happy Easter | Lawn Fawn

Are you ready for a Easter Party, these kids sure are! This interactive shaker card is filled with sequins and caviar beads. The egg silhouette has been colored with distress oxide ink and a acetate window is glued onto the back to keep all the shaker elements inside. I then added a thin border of foam tape around the edge to contain all the beads and sequins.

I debated leaving the inside of the egg white or keeping the patterned paper in the background of the egg. After laying it out several times it looked much better keeping it in. The patterned paper was die cut with a stitched border and adhered to a #110 white card base. The shaker element was then attached with a strong adhesive glue to the panel.

The children were colored with Copics and the smaller images from the Easter Party set were used to fill in. White gel pen is used for highlights and glitter sparkle was added to the pedals, glossy accents was added to the ducks nose, feet, and jelly beans.

This is post #201, and I just surpass 70K post hits to my blog!!! THANK YOU to everyone that likes, follows and comments on my Facebook Page and Instagram(@klmdesignscardsbykrysta) it means the world to me.

Who Rescued Whom? | Sunny Studio Stamps

A love this card, it is very much for a kitty adoption. An older kitty welcoming another cat into the household. For many of us paper crafters I think many of use took a challenge this year to try and used a lot of the patterned paper in our stash (and I have a bunch of it).

I liked how the different shades of green gave the grasses different depth and I cut the solid card stock with a grassy edge border. For the sky I stenciled the cloud background then also die cut the bottom edge border.

The kitties were colored with Copics and giving white high lights, the kitten in the onesie was pop-dotted and also the balloon she is holding for some dimension and Noir glitter sparkle was added before sparkle glossy accents for some added shine. The panel is then adhered onto a #100lbs card base.

Happy Easter | Newton's Nook Designs | Alcohol Ink Background

This weekend was the first time I had ever played with alcohol inks and I thought it would be a fun thing for both my partner and myself to together as a couple. I had everything bought and pre-cut, setup the kitchen table and showed him how to do the first one and away we played.

He thought it was cool, and we both made 5 panels, and they turned out great. I left them dry and I used one on todays card to finish off a Newton Easter shaker card.

Thanks for stopping by,

Friends like You | Newton's Nook Designs

I've been playing with a few different stamping techniques, this one is called Fill-In Stamping Jennifer McGuire shared it on here blog about a week ago. This was such a cute, vibrant image and I wanted to keep it the focal point for this card and I thought this technique was perfect.

Have an Egg-stra Special Day! | Newton's Nook Designs

Happy Friday, where did this week go? I have been so busy in my design room yet I feel I have got nothing done. Though the first day of Spring came and went I know I was not the only person in that slump!

I jumped on in a took part in a color challenge this week, as I have not done one in ages. This color challenge is by
http://www.inkypawschallenge.com/2018/03/inky-paws-challenge-68.html

The colors chosen to use were yellow, light green, light blue and white. I colored Kitty Easter Bunny Newton first with Copics. Then using embossing paste and some pretty iridescent glitter I stenciled on the cloudy sky background and set that aside to dry for a few hours. I stamped on the black sentiment and die-cut out the background panel. I pop dotted Newton for raised dimension and added some grass to ground him and a touch of blue on the side, a little white gel pen for highlights, sparkle to the eggs, and glossy accents for detail.

Thanks for stopping by,

Inky Paws Challenge #68 Favorites
Krysta's lovely Easter card is so sweet with those clouds from Cloudy Sky stencil. We love how she softly colored the bunny-kitty from Newton's Easter Basket stamp set. What a delightful card!
