You're getting Muffin for Christmas

I saw this project done earlier this year and have been waiting for the perfect occasion to make it. The original project is made by Nichole Heady, Cupcake Take Along. Nichole gave some awesome instructions and I think this can be used for so many occasions, and of course for anyone that likes to bake.

This year at my work place we decide to do Secret Santa for Christmas. Which was nice cause typically we don't do anything. I never did get to see the reaction of my co-worker who received this but I hope she liked it.

When I make this again there are a couple of things I would change as I though a lot of ribbon was used. I don't find that Scor tape works so well for me, but could just be the climate I live in. It is not very sticky and dries out very quickly as I find with a lot of adhesive I buy. It needs to be used right away.

Inside the pocket are brightly colored gift box icing toppers.

I made you say Underwear!

The finally of my Christmas cards for 2009. I made easel cards just for my close personal friends. How easy is it to keep a straight face for this one...LOL :)
I loved the image and new immediately who was going to get this image on their card when I saw it posted on SCS. You know when you can talk openly about underwear, you've got to be close friends!

Easel cards are definitely a favorite of mine. I love the look, the amount of paper and layers I can put onto a card. I can already see I will be taken this technique with me into 2010.

I seem to be making my easel cards 5"x5" as it is really hard to find square envelopes where I live. Only four layers on this card and I think it is self explanatory as to how I made it just by looking at it. I nestled my square Spellbinders for the verse and pop dotted everything. The panties got some added bling with iridescent glitter. I tied the easel card with this beautiful red velvet ribbon. I think all the colors go so well on this card.

I would like to Thank my followers for viewing my blog through out this past year and my regulars that have watched me progress from day 1 which was almost 9 years ago. Wow time flies. I hope to have many of my goals achieved in 2010...

As most of you know it has not been a easy year for many of us and a learning experience for me as once you get old things are not simple as they once were. I suffered a great loss in my life in November, my Granny passed away. Many of these goals she wanted to see me accomplish and I'm going to try really hard to get there.

Footprints
Also Known As "I Had a Dream"

One night I dreamed a dream.
I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

"Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."

Penguin Muffin Top

My first easel card, OMG is this ever busy looking for me. And also my first time using a digital stamp! I was not sure what paper to use as sometimes when coloring on deskjet ink it bleeds but this didn't with my Copic markers so it must be because of the paper I used, (my favorite) Gina K Luxury Paper.

I also learned while making this card that Liquid Applique can go bad, when I took it out of the drawer the bottle had a dark brown liquid like it had seperated. I shook up the bottle best I could and my white is now on the tan side. When I used the liquid applique it did come out a tan color and this is why I sprinkled glitter on top of it to hide it a bit.

Figgy Pudding Favor's

I saw this little favor on SplitCoastStampers over a year ago and asked the creator Juliana if she would share her pattern and kindly she did. My projects never look the same but I am not always try to CASE all the time too as I have my own style just need a little inspiration from somebody else to get going.

I first traced and cut the pattern out then versamark stamped the swirl design onto the mocha paper. I used the FaLaLa Slice cartridge to cut out the holly and mistletoe shape and added green glitter to the outside edges. Punched a scallop circle out of white cardstock and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa ink. Inside the favor is 1 Ganong Cafe Chocolate Belgin Chocolate... individually wrapped of course :) Then folded up the favor and attached the scallop circle and double punched the wholes and inserted the red ribbon and tied closed. Punched out the red berries and added a shadow with white ink, and punched out the branch. A lot of work for these tiny holders, but they sure turned out cute.

Magic Stacking Box

I always find it so interesting how I come upon many of the projects that I do. This one in particular I was looking at a completely different project and found a link (Life As Lou) that lead me to this site where instantaneously I fell in love with the design of this box. Though the assembly of the box was fairly easy, the repetitive work of tracing, scoring, cutting and gluing were very time consuming.

Now the finale and my favorite card, 4 of 4! I am still on an owl kick. This turned out simple yet cute, and I loved the end result. By the fourth card I am now starting to run out of paper as I really like to layer up my cards. I put liquid crackle on the owls eyes and it looks really cool.

Snowman Filigree

I had a hard time finding my mojo for this weeks MOJO98 sketch. I loved the color combination, CC223 from a few weeks ago and when I started assembling this card I found the end result of the card was simple, a bit too simple, and usually I don't like simple. This was the first time I used a new ink by Autumn Leaves formulated for clear stamps. It stamped nice but did not stay wet long enough for embossing powder to stick, so I guess this was a lesson learned that Stampology Ink for me is not a pigment ink.

Thanks So Much

I made this card in one of my SU! monthly stamp night meets. My Niece had called me and needed a card to give to her Teacher for an end of the year gift. So I stamped the Thanks so much on the front of the card and added a Happy Retirement verse on the inside.
The ribbon frame was used on the center of the card and the rick rack was made using the SU! scallop edge punch, which gave the card a cool effect that looks like fabric and really it's paper.

Reach for the Stars

Here is card 2 out of 4 for June's Card Contest. No reason or rhyme behind this card, I just wanted to use my rocket stamp. I used the slice to cut out the shape of the Earth. This is how the paper was printed and just by chance the image turned out really good. Simply put together, I pop dotted the star design with light blue panel and the rocket. The sentiment banner is wavy but hard to tell by the picture, I also raised the chipboard star. You can never use enough pop dots I just love them!!!

Giftcard Holder {Seize the CuPcAkE}

This is such a cute tiny little card, it took me all day to make and wow is it ever heavy! First I made a mock template to see how this would all work together then I created the good version. I am adding this to my girlfriend's birthday card, this is a gift card holder and more my style of card making...
The gift card holder base is made out of light blue cs, then the middle was punched out with the word punch and circle punch to make the opening for the gift card to fit inside and the back inside edges are glued. I then framed all the inside areas with light pink cs, and layered them with the designer papers. Added ribbon and a sentiment, and used the oval punch punches. For the front of the card I stamped my cupcake image, and colored it with copics, cut it out, added the liquid applique and glitter on top of it while it's wet, and hit it with the heat gun to watched it puff up. And last but not least gave it a heart gem rhinestone on top for some bling.

CARD RECIPE
STAMPS: Maya Road; Cupcakes.
PAPER: Bazzill; Light Blue, Light Pink, Lime Green. Doddlebug Design; 937 Summer Stripe. Chatter Box; Butter Dots. SU!; Whisper White.
INK: Versafine; Onyx Black.

TOOLS: EK Success Punch. Marvy; Circle Punch. SU!; Word Punch, Large Punch, Small Punch.
SUPPLIES: Copics, Liquid Applique, MS; Gemstone Heart, Irridescent Glitter, Flower Brads.

Simple, I can do it! 3x3 Inchie!

I didn't think I could do it but this is as simple as I can get. Even createing a 3x3 inchie was hard enough for me to do. I'm kinda on a {cupcake, owl, monkey, baby} kick lately and thought this would be a nice birthday card for my girlfriend at work for whom I must share and show all new items that come in. She creates just wonderful simple cards and I find I need to color and layer everything, and have some form of business in my style of cards. Thanks for looking...

PAPER: Bazzill; Pink. Watercolor.

Upsy Daisy - Happy Birthday

This was my first get together with my new SU! group, and man can you tell I had fun. My card looks awesome, so that means it's good enough to blog AND to pass on to a deserving friend. I think my dearest friend Shirley (aka Group Demostrator) designed a beautiful card for this months get together. Great colors, great stamps & to top it off, I even learned a new technique... Wowzers!! {Happy Dance}

First off cut your whisper white and certainly celery out using the top note die cut. Trim away the preforated line of the white top not die cut, and stamp your upsy daisy image close to the top. Also leave enough room at the bottom of your white die cut to add your sentiment near the bottom.

Place some ribbon around the white top note, 1st layer is white organza, 2nd layer is pink & 3rd layer is silver elastic cording. I took my white top note die cut and pop dotted it only my certainly celery top note.

Here is a closer look:

Next, using the background image pretty petals. Color the different images using SU! Markers, then stamp a piece of whisper white paper. The backgroup image was then glued onto a piece of certainly celery and attached to the base of your card.

For the embellishment, the butterfly image was stamped with versamark ink and embossed with silver embossing on silver paper. Punched out with the 1" circle punch, and pop dotted onto 1 1/4" circle punch of certainly celery. Some pink ribbon is glued to the back and I pop dotted my embellishment onto the front of the card. {I love those pop dots}

CARD RECIPE
STAMPS: Upsy Daisy, Pretty Petals, Happy Everything, Flight of the Butterfly.

PAPER: Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Silver.
INK: Regal Rose, Mellow Moss, Versamark.
TOOLS: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. Top Note, 1" & 1 1/4" Circle Punch.
SUPPLIES: Markers, Pop Dots, Elastic Cord, Ribbon, Sponge. Silver EP.
