Happy Purrthday | My Favorite Things

What a cheerful birthday card, with a rainbow background. I love creating designs like this with distress oxide inks and stencils, no two images are ever a-like

I colored my silver kitten with Copic markers and gave him his favorite dish of seafood entree' for dinner. I propped him up with foam tape on a black stamped sentiment with white embossing powder and added a second piece of patterned pattern to stand out.
Some glossy accents were put onto the kitties bowl and the heart for some shine and once dried the panel is adhered onto a #110lbs white card base.

Thanks for stopping by,

Galaxy Background | Distress Inks

I have been de-stashing many of my older stamps to make room for some of the newer sets I've acquired. I came across this oldie but still a cutie with martians and rockets. There have been so many videos on how to make galaxy backgrounds I thought I would give it an attempt. I used distress inks, salty ocean, mustard seed, worn lipstick, dusty concord and black soot on Bristol paper.

I used the TH distress sprayer on the background panel and dried it with the heat too. Then splattered it with gold pearl Finetec mica paint and also white Copic ink. I colored the stamped images with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Lawn fawn Party Animals and white embossing powder. I've popped dotted the rocket shipped and attached the martian with an action wobbler.

Thanks for stopping by,

Party Animal | Peek A Boo

I've been trying to get a head of the game, so to speak as there are a lot of summer birthday's that I like to send cards too. Here I was finally able to play and practice with my Tim Holtz Distress Oxides. I created my background on Bristol smooth paper, using peeled paint and broken china. Then spritz it with a distress sprayer and dried it with a heat gun. I then misted it with sheer shimmer sparkle spray and created my own glittery paper!

I then die cut the front panel with the MFT Peek a Boo die, and also die cut the background with MFT Blueprints 13 frame die. Stamped the Party Animal images onto Spectrum Noir Card Stock and colored them in with Copics and die cut them. Stamped my sentiment, and started assembling it onto a Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock base. Fancied it up with glossy accents on the party hats and added a few Pretty Pink Posh clear mix sequins for embellishments.

Birthday Flyby | Magical Dragons

Here is a super cute card I wanted to share with you that I made for a dear friend for her birthday. This set is the Magical Dragons by Birdie Brown. It was all the craze this summer and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It sold out like crazy on all the online stores but I finally got mine.

I created the background clouds with Tim Holtz distress inks, and colored the dragons in with copic markers. Sponged the clouds with distress inks to help them stand out. The dragons wings have spectrum clear sparkle marker on them. I then pop dotted the dragons and the clouds up for some dimension. Added PPP clear mix sequins randomly over the card for more twinkling effect.

Birthday Delight

Hello Everyone,  Popping by this week to show you my take on this weeks #colorthrowdown (ctd398). I loved the bright colors Lynn choose for this challenge, as did so many other paper crafters as well. I used the Freshly made sketches as my sketch this week!! (fms242)

I am in love with my new stamps from Altenew, the layering and varieties I am able to come up with are endless from this set. I cut my red panel from DCWV citrus mat stack using mft Blueprint 13 frame. The circle is die cut from SSS stitched circles and Echo Park- Summer bliss paper. I die cut the word happy twice, once with paper and once with fun foam. Colored the paper with twisted citron distressed ink. I hope you enjoy this weeks card.

Thanks for stopping by,

No Stinkin Way

Hello Everyone! A super cute card for you today, I've been learning a lot of new techniques.

Starting with ink blending using Tim Holtz distressed inks and the foam blending tool. This is how I created the background for the card, I then stamped the skunk and masked him so that he is standing on the tree stump (this is an 80's technique that I'm so glade is popular again). I colored the skunk, mushroom, trunk, grass and the flower all with copic markers.

Stamped my sentiment on a piece of black cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed in white embossing power and fishtailed the edge. I also cut a 1/4" strip of striped designer paper for the card front and it just made the card jump from the paper. Foam taped it onto a red cardstock base and finished it off with mixed clear sequins. I hope you enjoy viewing this card as much as I loved creating it!

Mermaid Birthday

My best girlfriend and I exchange birthday cards every year and each year we go all out in making a card for one another. She is my only girlfriend that also makes handcrafted cards so you all know that this card needs to be {SPECIAL}. I made it up in my favourite colors and I believe they are starting to become her favourite colors as well too.

I first started stamping the mermaid with black versafine ink and masked her off with a post-it note. Punched out a cloud on a scrap piece of paper and started sponging from the top of the panel and then downwards to make the clouds. Then came back and punched out a cloud through the panel after my inked panel had dried. Then I went in and colored my mermaid with copics, I won't list the colors I used as I used a million. I used three colors of cardstock to make waves and offset them, I made one wave vellum to soften the mermaid and see her swimming in the water.

I used the fuse tool to make a shaker cloud, it is filled it with seed beads, sequins, glitter, glass beads. I used a piece of fun foam in behind the front panel to give the shaker that extra bit of room that it needed to move. Added a sentiment, sequins, and wink of stella to the cloud and the mermaid cause she needs to sparkle. Glued it really! really! good onto the card base cause it was thick by the time I was done.

I hope you enjoyed viewing this card thanks for stopping by,
