Christmas Penguin

Here is the last of the Whimsie Doodles Tis the Season images that I created cut files for. And of course my favorite out of all of them 'The Penguin'. Really simply layered, and pop dots added to the scarf, nose and feet for dimension.

Merry Christmas,

Gingerbread Man

Here is another image from the Whimsie Doodles Tis the Season images. The GingerBread Man, I took all his layers and turned them into cut images and away I went cutting them out on my Cricut.

I put One-step crackle medium onto the white icing images to give him the look of real glossy icing. His smile was hand drawn and glitter buttons in place to look a like gum-gums.

A very simple card but he looks so darn adorable!

Thanks,

Rudolf, Up, up, and Away!

Here is another image from Whimsie Doodles 'Tis the season images.

I took the reindeer image and turned it into a cut image. I made the outline of the body and once again, layered the additional images with designer paper. His head, nose and scarf are all pop dotted for added dimension.

I flocked the horns with Recollections Banana Flocking. I need to mention after using this product I will never use it again. It was very hard to get out of it's container, and it was so clumpy. I ended up lathering glue onto the horns and then having to push the flocking to adhere it. Horrible stuff! (This is my personal opinion)

I am almost caught up, only a few more post to go. Thanks for dropping in,

WinterSong Snowman

I absolutely love Whimsie Doodles digital images, this cute snowman is from the Whimsie Doodles 'Tis the Season images set.

As many of my followers know I am getting very good at making my own cut files and that is exactly what I did with this image.
I first made my outline of the snowman to create my card base, and all the layers were cut individually to make all the remaining layers.

I also added some embossing to the red ribbon on the top hat with the swiss dots folder. Then added pop dots to the bird's wing and his scarf for dimension.

I have a few more to blog so keep checking, I'm trying to catch up.

Bye for now,

Merry Ruffmas

It's 9 days till Christmas, I'm back today with this cute doggy Christmas Card.

The dog was cut from the Create A Critter cartridge. I embossed him with the Swiss Dots embossing folder to give a bit of texture. And sponged the edges with SU! Chocolate Chip ink to give him some definition and pop dots were added for him to stand out more.

The presents are cut from the Winter Frolic cartridge. I used various left over scraps of Christmas paper, to get all those lovely colors of the presents. The greeting was from a font on my computer, and for the tips of the wording I added some Diamond Stickles.

Have a good weekend everyone,

Winter Fun

Hi Everyone,

Wow it really does seem like forever since I blogged, and yes it has been forever. I have been busy for the past couple of months, 1 was to get ready for my craft sale and 2 was to fill orders that I received from my craft sale. So with that said I still have not had the chance to work on my own personal Christmas cards that I'd like to send out to family and friends and I'm running out of time.

But here is one card I am happy to share with you, it is for an order. My customer wanted a money holder type card but a card that can also be displayed as a Christmas ornament afterwards. Like always a little challenging especially when you don't know the person receiving it personally.

Oh boy, has my Cricut sure gotten a workout from this season. I have created most of my cards cutting with it. On this card I used the Winter Frolic cartridge and gave it lots of layers, and lots of pop dots, just how I like it. You can never use enough pop dots!

Off for now thanks for popping in and hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of me.
Season's Greetings....

It's been a long time?

Hey Friends,

It seems like forever since I posted anything and yes it has been a while. I needed to take a break from my weekly creations and challenges to get ready for my craft sale & bazaar this year. I was not able to take part last winter as my craft room was still packed up from my summer move. And I started late this year in preparation and trust me the panic button was stuck on for the 2 weeks up until my sale.

My craft sale was great, and I had lots of new items this year and some of my old favorites. I even have a few orders that I need to complete. So once I get those finished everything should be back to normal. And onto my own Christmas cards that I personally like to send out.

I'm still around I've just been very busy and hopefully I'll get back to my old routine in no time!

See you soon,

Dr. Seuss Thank You's

I have had the wonderful request to create some baby shower thank you cards with a Dr. Seuss theme of cat's hat of The Cat In The Hat book. These are going to be from twin boys Hudson & Owen and that is why the verse on the front of the card says, "Thanks to You For the gift for Two!"

In total there are 25 cards, I cut out Cat's hat using SCAL. I must tell you that this is a favorite program of mine, just for the fact I can design and cut out almost anything. The stars are versamarked and because this is an item that is going to be mailed I choose not to pop dot anything as I didn't want them to be wreaked while in transit.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Teenage Birthday

I always find cards for teenagers so difficult to make, as that is the transition age for things that are, "cool or not cool"! I use so many cutesie stamps that I knew that would not work for this card.

So what I did was find a really hip and happening image that I could cut on my Circut. This is a new release by SVG cuts, I though the image was very hip, trendy and posh.

I used an older color challenge from the Color Q:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

More Anniversary Botanicals

Another spin with SU! Botanical Blooms, this is a two-stepping stamp set. I am typically a digital stamper and love to color in the images. But sometimes you have to leave your happy medium and try other things.

A simple card but it looks very pretty, I love the end result. Once again I cased a card, this one by happyscrapper5 and like always I changed it up to my liking.

This is a closer view showing the effect of the flowers with add dimensionals,

Happy Weekend!

Anniversary Blooms

No I haven't disappeared, but I'm sure you all know how it is when the flu hits your household. This flu bug definitely outstayed it's welcome but I'm glad to say I'm feeling crafty so that's a good thing.

Thought I'd take a different take this week and be adventurous and do some two-step stamping. So here I used Stampin' Up! Botanical Blooms. I cased a card by Christine Creations, of course the end result of my card is very much different then her's.

I stamped the flowers and leaves on whisper white card stock and then stamped the outline images with white onto vellum. And punched the bottom edge with SU! scallop trim border.

The color combination is last weeks Color Throwdown #158,
This is a closer view of the pearlized white ink on the vellum such a pretty shimmer unfortunately the picture does not do it justice.

Thanks for visiting this week,

Angry Birds Invites

I was asked to make some invitations for a sweet little boy who is turning 5 and loves Angry Birds. So you can guess what the theme of his birthday is all around. I posted a Angry Bird Birthday Card back in May you can view it here. I still haven't found a glue that adheres to the rubber band to make it easier to attach to the card stock, that is the most difficult part of the slingshot.

Happy Birthday Zach!

Teacher Congratulations

A truly cute card this week, made with a new digital stamp release over at Whimsie Doodles. I used designer paper by Imaginisce called School Days as it was so very appropriate to go with this card.

The sketch is this weeks Mojo Monday.

I colored Hootie with Copics and I loved the outcome of the feathered look I got by following the fur tutorial that was posted on Whimsie Doodles a few days ago. I also liked how the card looked without the added rectangle that is shown on the sketch, as it showed more of the cuteness of the designer paper.

Have a good weekend everyone!

The "Grill Master's" Birthday

I'm really loving the latest images released by Whimsie Doodles.
The moment I saw Smokin' Hot Koale I knew I wanted to make a birthday card for my brother. Who is the "Grill Master" when it comes to anything barbequed.

Here again I used some of my new paper, yay! The new lines of designer papers that some of these scrap booking companies are bringing out are really hip, cute and cool. This designer paper is by Echo Park and there hasn't been a kit thus far I haven't fallen in love with by them.
A brilliant red with a modernized gingham paper, so very appropriate for this cooking card. My favorite thing about this card is how the BBQ itself turned out, it looks just like a real BBQ speckled and all. I used Copics to colour the image.

I used this Saturday's sketch from The Sweet Stop:

And an older color combination from the ColourQ:

Next up is Christmas, I'm trying to get going on those projects that I seriously need to start making. Keep watching for that in the up incoming weeks :)

Birthday Girl

This weeks card is for a few of my girlfriends birthday's this summer.
It also gave me the chance to ink up some of my newly purchased stamps. It was unusual for me as I have gotten so used to using digital stamps and the ability to re-size images where you can't with clear pvc stamps, so it was a nice change up.

The sketched used  for my card is by My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club - Week 29:

The color combination is from this weeks colorQ:

Thanks for viewing and have a good weekend!
