Happy Purrthday

A bright and cheerful stenciled background card made with Tim Holtz's distress oxide inks, carefully blended using one of Tim's mini stencils from Set 21. I Copic colored the MFT smitten kitten to look like a kitten. The kitten is sitting on the bold white sentiment, that is popped up with it's food bowl and a birthday candle. The addition of the heart just makes this card extra special...

Newton's Nook | Newton's Nook Loves Cake

Here is a very special birthday card for a long time friend of mine that lives across the miles and loves cats just as much as I do. I stamped Newton on some Tim Holtz water color paper and colored him in with Zig real clean brush markers.  Die cut the base panel out with MFT blueprints 13 with Bristol smooth paper and sponged the background with distress oxides in cracked pistachio, picked raspberry and fossilized amber. Spritzed it with water and paper toweled off the excess and heat tool dried it, I then flicked on some black and gold splatter. I fun foam mounted the panel onto SSS fog card stock and pop dotted Newton and put him just above the white embossed sentiment on the black card stock.

I love cats and so does my boyfriend's Mom. This adorable card came together fairly easily for me. I ink blended the background panel with TH Distress Oxides in, picked raspberry, cracked pistachio, salty ocean and seedless preserves. Then sprayed it with water with the TH distress sprayer and dried it with the heat tool. Flicked some shimmer liquid onto it as well to give it some glimmer. Colored the stamped images with Copic markers and pop dotted them above the stamped verse on black card stock.

Cheery Christmas | Lawn Fawn

Like everyone else, I started creating my Christmas cards in July. They have been slow and steady! I would like to go into a fall or winter craft show but it will depend on the stock I inquire and if I can afford a table.

This card has a lot of layers, it took me a bit of time but it was easy to make. I first stamped the blue background panel with the fallen snow from Lawn Fawn's Snow Cool set. Then die cut out my hills from white card stock and foam taped them for dimension. All the critters are colored with Copic markers. Spectrum Noir Clear sparkle was added to the light bulbs, ornament and ribbon to give it that extra bit of twinkle.

Galaxy Background | Distress Inks

I have been de-stashing many of my older stamps to make room for some of the newer sets I've acquired. I came across this oldie but still a cutie with martians and rockets. There have been so many videos on how to make galaxy backgrounds I thought I would give it an attempt. I used distress inks, salty ocean, mustard seed, worn lipstick, dusty concord and black soot on Bristol paper.

I used the TH distress sprayer on the background panel and dried it with the heat too. Then splattered it with gold pearl Finetec mica paint and also white Copic ink. I colored the stamped images with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Lawn fawn Party Animals and white embossing powder. I've popped dotted the rocket shipped and attached the martian with an action wobbler.

Uchi's Watch Me Move Animation Card

I sat down and gave my May Simon Say's Stamp May Card Kit the Uchi's Watch Me Move Animation Card Kit a try (now in July, I'm only a few months behind LOL). It must be "my eyes" because I only see the movements when I have the card a certain direction. But my partner thinks its the coolest thing and can play with the card forever! So I know I lined it up straight and that it works correctly.

I die cut the background with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames from Strathmore Bristol smooth paper and ink blended it using Tim Holtz Distress Inks twisted citron, picked raspberry and spiced marmalade. I then created a pocket using my Fuse tool and a project life pocket, for the grid to slide back and forth in. Flat taped half a 1" circle on the side and stamped it with slide me from Lawn Fawns, Push Here stamp set and double layer foam mounted it onto a card base.

Party Animal | Peek A Boo

I've been trying to get a head of the game, so to speak as there are a lot of summer birthday's that I like to send cards too. Here I was finally able to play and practice with my Tim Holtz Distress Oxides. I created my background on Bristol smooth paper, using peeled paint and broken china. Then spritz it with a distress sprayer and dried it with a heat gun. I then misted it with sheer shimmer sparkle spray and created my own glittery paper!

I then die cut the front panel with the MFT Peek a Boo die, and also die cut the background with MFT Blueprints 13 frame die. Stamped the Party Animal images onto Spectrum Noir Card Stock and colored them in with Copics and die cut them. Stamped my sentiment, and started assembling it onto a Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock base. Fancied it up with glossy accents on the party hats and added a few Pretty Pink Posh clear mix sequins for embellishments.

Bella and Friends | Interactive Card

I just recently found a fellow card crafter Lesley Oman and her CCWM challenges. I liked her evening craft of this interactive card and needed one myself for an upcoming event I thought I would try one of my own.

I first created my clouds with distress ink and a template moving upwards. Then turned it around and did the grass with another template and sponged the same way. I then set the background aside to dry and stamped my images on spectrum noir 100lb paper. I colored the puppy and the parrot with copic markers. Put some wink of stella onto the balloon and spectrum noir sparkle on the parrot and the puppies collar. Gave the balloon a coating of glossy accents and set aside over night to dry.

Then I cut the background out and the placement for the slider with blueprints 31, adhered everything together and made sure the slider worked. Glue my stamped image on and stamps the sentiments, raised the card front panel with fun foam and attached it to the turquoise card base.

I made quite a few slider cards for Easter, and they were a big hit. Interactive cards are a lot of work to make but the end result is they are a lot of fun to play with. This stamp set, Cottontail Cuties by Neat & Tangled was so very cute to color and there were so many color combinations you could do with it.
