I Baked You A Cake | Newton's Nook

A clean and simple watercolor card with Newton, enjoying a piece of birthday cake (calorie free of course!) I stamped Newton on Tim Holtz water color card stock and colored him with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I love how bright and pigmented these markers are, I am gradually building up my selections of colors.

I then ink blended the background with distress oxide inks in fossilized amber, picked raspberry, and seedless preserves. Spritzed it with water and set it aside to dry and then splattered it with black flex.

I stamped a piece of black card stock with versamark ink and gold embossed it, from a sentiment from the Newton Loves Cake set. I adhered the front panel to a 110lbs white card base and left the inside blank so a note or message could be written for the recipient.

Please Be Mine Valentine | MFT | Neat and Tangled

How I love making shaker cards, these interactive cards are one of my most popular cards that everyone loves to play with. Each one is unique like this cute Valentine, it is filled up with clear sequin mix, red x's and o's, purple and pink sequins.  With acetate on the front it has an elegant white stamped sentiment that reads, "please Be Mine valentine."

The front panel of the card was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks pink raspberry and seedless preserves and spritzed with water for a dressed background effect and set aside to dry. The cats are the MFT Smitten Kitten set and were masked when stamping to have them sit beside one another and were colored with Copics. For a finishing touch I added a few more clear sequins around the heart and secured the panel to a 110lbs white card base.

I Love Mew

I loved Yainea's card so much I had to case it, and mine turned out a bit different but that is what usually happens. The cat stamp is from Lawn Fawn, Meow you doin' and there new conversation hearts add-on set. I stamped everything on 110 lbs bristol smooth paper and ink blended the background with worn lipstick distress oxide ink. The kitty and hearts are copic colored, blended and shaded. I versamark stamp the sentiment on a die cut piece of melon mambo card stock and white heat embossed it. Then wrapped the front panel in stripped grey baker's twine and foam mounted it onto a 110lbs white card stock base.

I think this is the most adorable card and the kitten is so cute.

KLM Designs 9th Blogoversary!

Happy 9th Anniversary KLM Designs Blog! Though I have been paper crafting since 2001 and really became more of an avid card designer in 2004, my passion and love for creating greeting cards continues. I still have my favorite brands I always go back too and choose to keep up with the newest and latest products that evolve and are being released. Like all crafters, there will always be space in our studios for new stock.

I try a little bit everyday to make time to unwind and sit down with my stamps, ink and copics. If it is only for half an hour, an hour, or just a 7 minute YouTube video of the day. I am a perfectionist (I always have been). It can take me hours sometimes days to complete a single card. I take pride having my cards available for purchase in my city at boutiques, craft shows, and on my KLM Designs Facebook Page.

Thank you to everyone who stops by and for your encouraging words!

Happy Purrthday

A bright and cheerful stenciled background card made with Tim Holtz's distress oxide inks, carefully blended using one of Tim's mini stencils from Set 21. I Copic colored the MFT smitten kitten to look like a kitten. The kitten is sitting on the bold white sentiment, that is popped up with it's food bowl and a birthday candle. The addition of the heart just makes this card extra special...
