Happy Mother's Day | Papertrey Ink

What a busy week it has been, and the weather has been like it's November all over again. Yesterday we had snow, sleet, and rain! I thought it was April but it's more like our fourth Winter again.

I pulled this card out of my stash today, it was a Mother's Day card I made last year that I had never posted, so I must of completed it once it was too late to mail.  So I though it would be great to blog it for today to break up for what's been a week full of butterflies.

This is my go to Papertrey The Sweet Life set I constantly go back to time and time again, I love these roses, and I am constantly trying to figure out what inks work together. Since acquiring my MISTI's using layers stamp sets have gotten so much easier to use.

Thank You The Sweet Life | Papertrey Ink

A favorite floral set of mine that I continuously go back to, Papertrey Ink The Sweet Life Set. I always love playing with this set and now that I have the Misti it is so much easier to use and line up the layered stamps.

I first started by die cutting out my front panel with a hexagon die shape and ink blended from the bottom up and left the top faded with distress oxide ink. I spritzed with water and splattered with gold and black finetec metallic paint. I then added acetate to the back to create a window for my shaker pieces, and used foam tape to make a pocket to secure the sequins and beads. Cut out a mirrored gold card stock word sentiment and dimensionally raised the roses.

PAPER: Bristol Smooth. Neenah Solar White 110, Gold Mirror Cardstock.

INK: PTI, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel.

TOOLS: Big Shot.

SUPPLIES: Foam Tape, Pop Dots, Sequin, Bead, Acetate, Nuvo Drops Carnation Pink, Nuvo Drops Apple Green, Finetec Metallic Paint.

Mother's Day Roses

Here is my Mother's Day card I made for this year. I stamped this with The Sweet Life set from Papertrey Ink, on ultra smooth premium white cardstock by Spectrum Noir. I used Papertrey inks berry sorbet and pure poppy for the roses and spring moss and new leaf for the leaves. Dimensional's were added to the lower left roses and clear wink of stella was graciously put on all the roses for some sparkle. For the final touch, iridescent sequins!


I've been trying to learn a few new techniques off of YouTube and found a few new suppliers.  And as always everything I have found is out of the U.S. They cost a fortune as the exchange rate is just horrible right now.
Hopefully I'll get a few more projects up and posted in the future as I am just full of creative ideas at the moment :)

Borrowed and Baja Wedding Card

My first wedding card of the year, this is for my best friend and her husband. Knowing it's coming from me, it had to be perfect. I think I stamped the roses 20 times till I found the perfect color combination.

I played along with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. The base is sahara sand and matches the new SU something borrowed designer paper perfectly. The curved mat is baja breeze, embossed with the SU elegant lines embossing folder. I outlined the roses with a Sakura glitter pen and it just makes the roses twinkle so pretty. Added a few teeny tiny pearls on the daisies and in the center of the embossed circles. The outside edge of the card has been sponged with crumb cake.
