It's a frigid December!

A bitterly cold Arctic air mass is over southern Saskatchewan and has been for most of this week. And with it, it's bringing -34.c temperatures with -45.c windchill's =  frigging cold!! Brrr!

As most of you can tell I have not made any cards for a very long time, August was the last posting for a private wedding. I stopped making cards at the end of June! Frankly I just got tired, burnt out, and sick of the lies. I was being asked for custom cards with ridiculous requests, lack of planning, and yes if you want a custom card that does require a PAYMENT transaction in order to receive your order in the end. So until further notice I will remain on sabbatical.

But did manage to sit down this week and make five Christmas cards and I very much enjoyed it. This is a Case'd card that I put my own niche into it. I made one 5.5" square card and four A2 cards.

Teacher Thanks so much!

The end of the school year is near, 12 days to be exact! This is a teacher thank you pencil shaped card. Isn't it quaint it's only 2.5"x7" big, "But oh so cute". The image is from Whimsie Doodles pencil shaped card image file. I played around with the sizing a bit to get a size I liked. I inked up all the edges and it really popped out the dimension of the layers.

Autism Thank You Card

A custom order for a special and incredibly smart young boy, Keygan. His Mother Roz asked me to make a 'Autism Thank You Card' for them. They are given it to someone who has been very helpful with them this year.

I first found a cut file of a puzzle, then figured out how to cut the outline of the puzzle pieces from the base of the card base. I used all the common colors for Autism, turquoise, red, blue and yellow and cut the puzzle pieces from those colors. The verse is from the Silhouette online store 'thank you' informal word set.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.

I hope you love it Keygan!!

Butterfly Birthday

Butterfly centerpieces for a 90th birthday! Can you make it anymore cheerful than using the colors of the rainbow.

I used seven colors and cut out a smaller butterfly with the same monochromatic color for the top layer. Each smaller butterfly was run through the Cuttlebug and embossed with a different design. I used eleven different embossing folders to be exact.

I cut out a black happy birthday script from the silhouette site (Design #35716) and glued one on either side.

Coral Blossom Bithday

I'm on a roll this week and in the mood to get some paper crafting done so why not.
I seem to be on a coral kick lately. So I was happy to read that today's color combination CC421 on Splitcoast Stampers was three of MY favorite colors.

Basic Black, Calypso Coral & Baja Breeze.

A girlfriends birthday is coming up this weekend and I wanted to make her a little something as I know she'll appreciate it. And since my city just opened our 1st Bath & Body Works Store I knew what I wanted to put in it. A pretty smelling hand sanitizer!

I still want to incorporate a card with this gift. I guess we'll see what the rest of this week brings. I'm on a really long stretch now before another day off is near.

Summer Sihouettes

I needed to get some sympathy cards made as it is that time of year when there seems to be a lot of passing's. Winter is supposed to be over and Spring is about to arrive. But I'm starting to question that as it is "still" snowing in my part of the country.

I saw this card by Adriana on Pinterest today and I new I wanted to CASE it as I have this SU! set Summer Silhouettes and haven't had the chance to ink them.

Personally I like my cards better
with the certainly celery base. I also pop dotted the front one-layer panel.
The entire cards stands out better with a colored background.

Fare-Whale old Pal

After working for 6 days straight I couldn't wait for today's day off.    I planned today to sit down and play with some of my new Stampin! Up Spring 2013 stamps. I'm really loving the cuteness of the Oh Whale! set and coordinating Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Paper.  A simple 2D card with a bit of 2nd generation stamping, I think it turned out great!

This card was made in mind of a dear friend of mine Jalyn whom is leaving for art school in Vancouver at the end of this week. I hope she loves it there, and misses me terribly as I know I'll miss her and her crazy zombie references.

Hogs and Kisses

Wow how time flies, and once again another month has gone by. Well I just got home from my annual winter holiday, it was good! I had a great time with the 'regulars' and also made a bunch of new friends.

Now onto Valentine's Day, this is my favorite non-holiday. I'm not really sure as to why but it always is, I guess I just like the idea of Love. Tonight I had a few people in mind to receive these as I made them, #1 my Mom cause she loves pigs, #2 my neighbor, #3 my bff. Though I thought they were  stinking cute - I had to make them. Each treat box is a different shade of pink, and knowing my collection of card stock I had lots of shades to choose from.

I filled them up with yummy chocolates, Ferrero Rocher, Kit Kat bars, fudge and hot chocolate sticks. This kit is from Lettering Delights, Hogs for Kisses.

Keep checking back as I will be in a Spring Craft Sale on March 23rd, 2013. I hope to give you some sneak peaks at what I'll have at my table.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
Cheers,
