Boxed Bird House

Just a quick entry for today this is only my rough draft but I thought it was worth showing off because of all it's cuteness. This is the Spring Birdhouses SVG Kit from SVG Cuts. This is one of the very first svg files I cut on my Cricut once I had it set up and was just learning some of the programs available to use with your Cricut.

For me this was a how to assemble these adorable shaped boxes quiz. I can see me heading into dangerous territory LOL!

Hawaiian Engagement

Aloha! I was given the opportunity to create an engagement card for a dear couple that recently have gotten engaged and are planning the big day to be in Maui.

~Congratulations!~

I was asked to make a card that was not only classy, with nice wording and a bit of embossing. I did a little bit of all of the above but the first thing that came to my mind was one of my very favorites of anything I am able to do with a card and that is use BRIGHT COLORS :) Wow is this bright, I love it! I hope the couple to receive it will enjoy it as much as I did making it for them.

As usual for the week I used the Mojo Monday Sketch, and for the very first time I used my SU Tropical Party Stamps with the matching paper, Island Oasis, SU card stock and inks. (I know I even amazed myself!)

This card was simply made but with my style lots of layers and pop dots. Thanks for stopping by...

Happy Monday and have a great week everyone!

Quarter-Back in Training

This week I gave myself a challenge, and it was too design my own shaped card. I've been playing a lot with my Cricut and the different programs you can use with it. So I sat down from Sunday evening until today and I have been perfecting my own design of this football shaped card.

Once I had all the layers figured out I cut the base of the card out of SU! Chocolate Chip, then put the layered images of the football through the Cuttlebug machine with the tiny bubbles embossing folder to give it the texture of a football. I then colored my little football player and layered him with dimensionals. I then placed the sentiment on like a waving flag.

In the province that I live in, CFL football is our big named sport. So I made this little boy a "RoughRider" in training and added some of the team logo to the front of his jersey. Don't you agree the referee pooch displaying 'touchdown' is so appropriated!

Thanks for stopping by :)

For a little Someone!

I am not sure if I'm entirely happy with how this card turned out, I had visualized it a bit differently. I used the Color Throwdown #126 for my colors, as I don't have the new SU incolors but I matched them up as best I could.

I used the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Challenge Sketch, I was doing pretty good until I put it all together at the end. I really like this background paper, but maybe that is what's too busy looking for me. The clouds were stamped onto vellum with versamark and then brushed on silver pearl ex so you could see the image. The waves are cut on the cricut with Life is a beach cartridge and pop dotted for dimension.

I have so many girlfriends right now that are expecting at around the same time so I am in baby mode right now. If I'm not making a card I'm busy crocheting up a storm.

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment I'd like to know what you'd do differently on this card.

Happy 1st day of SPRING!

Deer Friend

I love being back in the groove of things. I have been eagerly following my favorite blogs and taken part in many of the blog hops going on this week. The card I made today is for a blog I very much enjoy following, ...just a little something by Joanne B. and this week is her blogaversary! Happy 4th Blogaversary Joanne.

At Joanne's blog she challenged us to choose 3 of the 5 elements given to use.
  • Kraft Paper
  • Pink, Ivory and Orange as your color combination
  • Twine
  • Mixed Stitching
  • Ledger, Alpha or number paper
I decided on the top 3 to use on my card.

Along with ...just a little challenge, today is Mojo Monday. So I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the design of my card. I like how this card turned out, it's clean and simple.

Have a great week everyone! :)

Have you found your Prince?

Two cards accomplished so far, I know its silly but I am such a perfectionist. When I make a card it usually takes me 4 or 5 days to complete, this one only took me 2 evenings to finish. I wanted this card to be for an engagement but looks more princess-girlie to me?

I took part in the Mojo Monday card sketch challenge.

Leave a comment or follow my blog, I love to follow everyone else!

Have a great weekend :)

Pamper Yourself

It has been a long 10 months but the day is finally here I have my craft room painted, tables set up and almost all my craft boxes put away. Which gave me the opportunity to craft away till my heart was content.

Since I haven't made anything in so long I though it was funny, when I started to score the paper for my card base. I was actually nervous and out of touch. But soon once I started stamping and using my cuttlebug, ahh yes it all came back to me ...whoa thank goodness!

Nothing like making my first card easy, nope I decided to do 3 Challenges all-in-one. This weeks Mojo Monday,
Color Throwdown & Moxie Fab World: The Paper Piecing Challenge.
I received a Cricut for Christmas and purchased the Sure Cuts A Lot computer program. I tried it out and I love it! I used it for the base of my card, the circles and the pink scalloped border.

I hope you all enjoy viewing my first card of the year and I hope for many more ahead to come!
